HFS - HTTP File Server Editor's Review

I was recently trying to send a large file over the Internet to a friend when I discovered that a simple task that should be piece of cake can become sometimes a real headache. I'm not necessarily talking about slow file transfers (via my instant messaging client), I'm talking about the issue of failed transfers. Thankfully, while searching for a solution, I came across a great program called HTF - HTTP File Server.

HTF is a Web-based file-sharing utility that also functions as a Web server. With it, you can upload and download files and even host your Web page. To share a file(s) to another person, you'll only have to add your file(s) into the program (drag and drop your files into the 'Virtual File Sytem' or right click and add files) and then send the URL to the other person. Soon as he/she opens the URL, they will be able to downloaded the file(s).

For me, this program worked like a charm and faster than any other instant messaging client and I really like the optional Expert/Easy modes. Easy mode helps inexperienced users, and Expert mode reserves several options for experienced users.

Pluses: free; open source; completely portable; bandwidth management; dynamic DNS updater; accounts support; download resuming with the help of a download manager like Light Downloader;

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: It's very ease to use, efficient, free, and recommended.
